ElighterNew USB-powered devices just keep on coming but most are just gimmicks with borderline practicality. Not so the E-Lighter, designed by Tao Ma to not only look good, but to light your smokes quickly and reliably using only the electrical power of your PC or laptop computer.
Elighter2 The E-Lighter utilizes a resistance wire that glows red-hot when electricity passes through it. Remember those push-in cigarette lighters once found in most cars & trucks? Same principle - and no butane gas to suddenly run out when the craving strikes. Tao Ma states his reasons for designing the E-Lighter thusly: "You are working late in front of computers. You are watching suspenseful and breathtaking movies. You are receiving disheartening emails. Right at these moments you want to grab a cigarette to lift your mood but happen to have no lighter with you. Can you imagine how dismaying this is? Hence I designed this e-lighter for you." Gee… thanks Tao! And I don’t even smoke!
Elighter3 Displaying a sexy, curvaceous profile resembling a miniature genie’s bottle, the E-Lighter comes in black or white and features an on-board LED that glows through a mandala-like transparent insert in your choice of "Felicity", "Rich" or "Longevity". A flip-top lid that exposes the element when you’re ready to light up. Other than the micro-hinged lid, there are no moving parts, no flints to wear down and no fuel reservoir to refill. Products like the E-Lighter might just get folks to stop snickering at "yet another silly USB gadget".

Lohandrunkrex_450x350The latest twist in the lengthy Lohan saga… Lindsay could be expecting a baby.

She might not be in rehab, but trying to conceal a pregnancy, a pal of the actress told the US edition of OK! ‘It wouldn’t be the first time she’s had a pregnancy scare,’ her ‘mate’ claimed.

Lohan’s exboyfriend, 26-year-old Calum Best, said the star had told him that she ‘just wants to be left alone’.

Her agent told Metro the pregnancy claims were ‘completely false’.

Earlier this week, the 21-year-old reportedly checked back into rehab for the third time in six months.

However, there have been no sightings of the partylover at the exclusive Cirque Lodge in Utah.

Her spokesman refused to confirm whether she was there.

But, wherever Lohan is, her time in hiding will soon run out – she has to attend a Los Angeles court on August 24, over her latest drinkdriving arrest in July.

She was allegedly caught chasing her assistant in someone else’s car, while in possession of cocaine.

Wait, it gets worse – production of her latest film Poor Things has stalled because of the Mean Girl’s troubles. Her last flick, I Know Who Killed Me, flopped at the US box office.

Meanwhile, her former bodyguard, Tony Almeida, blamed Lohan’s publicity-hungry parents Dina and Michael for the star’s spectacular fall from grace.

While Lohan has been in hiding, both parents have jumped into the limelight and spoken at length about their daughter’s ordeal.

Almeida also claimed that Lohan’s parents pressed her to earn money to pay their bills.

And he alleged that Michael had mistreated Lohan in other ways.

Gonzalezpa_175x125A serial killer who fantasised about becoming movie murderer Freddy Krueger has been found dead, Broadmoor Hospital said.

Daniel Gonzalez, 26, was found dead on Thursday and a police investigation has been launched.

A hospital spokesman said: "Police attended the hospital to investigate, as is normal procedure when there is a death in custody. We will not comment further until a post-mortem investigation has been carried out."

In March last year Gonzalez was given six life sentences after being convicted of knifing to death four people and attempting to murder two others.

He carried out the random attacks over three days in September 2004.

His murder victims were Derek Robinson, 76, and his wife Jean, 68, from Highgate, north London, Kevin Molloy, 46, who was killed in Tottenham, north London, on September 17, 2004, and Marie Harding, 73, who was murdered two days earlier near Worthing, Sussex.

He was also jailed for life for trying to kill Peter King, 61, in Portscreek, Portsmouth, on September 15 and Koumis Constantino, 59, in Hornsey, north London, on September 17.

The Old Bailey was told he wanted to kill at least 10 people and fantasised about becoming a famous serial killer.

He was considered one of the most dangerous patients at the maximum security hospital.

Jurors decided that he was a drug crazed, cold-blooded murderer and not suffering from mental illness as he claimed.
