3 Pinays Make History.

Filed Under (Current Affairs) by cpyrexia on 19-05-2007
It’s official. Three Filipinas—a physical education major, a sport climber and a first-time mother who gave birth five months ago—have made it to the history books as the first women to complete a traverse climb on Mt. Everest, that is, climbing from the North Side to the peak and then down the South Side.
Noelle Wenceslao, 27, Carina Dayondon and Janet Belarmino, both 28, climbed up the North Side from Tibet and climbed down the South Side into Nepal and reached base camp yesterday before 6 p.m. Manila time.
They are also the first Southeast Asian women to reach the summit.
Go Pinoy…Pinays. Mabuhay ka.
